The BSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) are closed for trade on April 29, 2019 as Mumbai goes to polls for Lok Sabha Election 2019. Wholesale commodity markets, including metal and bullion, are also closed.
There will be no trading activity in forex and commodity futures markets as well.
On April 26, the Sensex ended 336.47 points higher at 39,067.33, while Nifty rose 112.90 points to 11,754.70. About 1,065 shares advanced, 1,436 shares declined, and 147 shares were unchanged.
Tata Steel, BPCL, ICICI Bank, GAIL and JSW Steel were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Grasim Industries, Dr Reddy’s Labs and M&M.
